All hail the Queen

She began as a rapper. She's been nominated for an Oscar. She even poked fun at herself on "Saturday Night Live."

And this fall, Queen Latifah will be performing in the Hudson Valley, coming to the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston.

Rebounding back from the forgettable 2004 movie "Taxi," in which she co-starred with Saugerties native Jimmy Fallon, Queen Latifah can now be seen in the flick "Hairspray," which just opened on Friday.

The rapper-turned-actress put out an R&B CD back in 2004 ("The Dana Evans Album," seen here) and a second such R&B disc is set to come out in September.

Tickets for her October 27th show in Kingston go on sale this Wednesday, July 25th.

Pete clearly reads your blog, so maybe he should pay less attention to the number of exclamation points and more attention to the content, seeing as how he has no idea who Lindsay Lohan is!
