Filling out the fab foursome, Barbara Walters announced this morning that Whoopi Goldberg will be the new "moderator" for the upcoming 11th season of "The View."
Beginning on September 4th, the day after Labor Day, Whoopi will fill the vacancy left last year when hottie Meredith Vieira left for "Today" over on NBC.
On a personal note, this is great news for my mom and dad, who are both BIG fans of everything Whoopi — from movies like "Sister Act" and "Sister Act 2" to even "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and "Burglar."
Mom and Dad even saw Whoopi live in Kingston last year, when she appeared at the Ulster Performing Arts Center.
Of course, Whoopi fills the large vacancy left by Rosie O'Donnell who departed from "The View" when she got in a huge on-air tizzy with Elisabeth Hasselbeck back in May.
A survivor of the second season of "Survivor," Elisabeth weathered that storm with grace, coming out looking like the classy conservative cutie she is. Just look at her over there ... so cute!
And yes, I admit it: I watch "The View" many mornings. But I only watch the Hot Topics segments, because I love watching the four of them bicker at each other every day.
Oh! And I can't get enough about Barbara telling us how she was the first female co-anchor of "Today" or how she just got off the phone with Fidel Castro or Tom Cruise or Dick Cheney. (I just can't get enough, Barbara. Keep it coming!!!)
And remember: Take some time, and enjoy The View.
