Thank you, America!

Finally, after all my ranting, Kristy Lee Cook was voted off "American Idol!"

I've received some thoughtful comments from "Sean' Space" readers who said Kristy will likely become successful in the country music genre.

That might be and I wish her luck; my whole case all along is that she was never "Idol" material, as Simon always quantifies it: The performer with the best mix of talent and commercial appeal. Kelly Clarkson, for example, set the bar and it's safe to say that no "Idol" winner since has met the mix.

If anything, it seems some of the cast-offs (including runners-up) have found that combination (see Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry, Carrie Underwood). Still, I can see Kristy releasing a country CD and going out on her own tour.

Just, please ... no more Beatles songs!

Carrie Underwood wasn't a cast-off, she won her season :)
