Bo Bice or Taylor Hicks? You decide...

So, high off last week’s Taylor Hicks show here in town, someone in the office asked me:

“Which concert was better, Bo Bice or Taylor Hicks?” he pondered, knowing I’d seen both this summer.

And it got me thinking: Which one was better?

I mean, they both were on "American Idol" — Bo was the runner-up on Season Four and Taylor actually won the whole thing the next year! — but they put on totally different shows when they came to Poughkeepsie.

Bo's concert was totally acoustic — just him and a guitar — in the cozy, intimate setting of The Chance, where everyone from The Police to Bob Dylan have played.

Taylor, though, brought his band to our Mid-Hudson Civic Center, the (relatively) larger arena with a more conventional concert — at least compared to Bo's acoustic set — where everyone from Barry Manilow and Chicago has come through and set up stage.

They both got amazing fan reactions (although at times, I felt like I was the only guy in the crowd ... then I'd look around just for re-assurance!) and personally, my GF and I left each concert pleasantly surprised, having not known much about either singer before we went.

Both shows were actually refreshingly relaxed, nothing like the glitzy stage shows you often see in the big city, accompanied by a high ticket price needed to pay for those lasers and smoke machines and back-up singers. They both just highlighted the singer and his music. No frills.

So for those who you who have seen Bo in concert or a Taylor show — or, ideally, both — what do you think? Who puts on a better show? If you only had $35 in your pocket and had to pick one, which would you see why?

Bo fans ... Taylor fans ... let's discuss!

Personally, I like Taylor better. While Bo Bice is great in his own way, Taylor's music is more to my liking. Bo's music, in my opinion, has more of a country feel to it, which I'm not particularly fond of, and his songs are on the slower side.

Taylor, on the other hand, is more rock and roll, soul music. It's easier to dance to, it's faster, has more of a beat to it. Plus I feel that Taylor's voice is well suited for a variety of different genres. He is more of a performer.

I'm biased. I say Taylor because I don't know much about Bo Bice. Oh well.

I have been to 10 Taylor concerts so far and would go every week if I could- he just makes me so happy! So although I really like Bo and think he is incredibly talented for me there is NO ONE like Taylor Hicks!

I have only seen Taylor Hicks in concert (4 times) so I, of course, will say Taylor. He puts on a heck of a show.

While I am sure I would probably like Bo Bice performing, and I would see him if he came near me, I would have to say that Taylor has my heart and soul and as long as he is making music I will go to see him play/sing it.

My choice would be Bo Bice. He puts on an amazing show. I've never seen Taylor live, so i can't compare. I love Bo's style.

Anonymous said...

I've seen Bo Bice quite a few times and I've only seen Taylor on the American Idol tour.

I love Bo's voice and style so he'd be my pick. His full-band shows are awesome, but the show this year at The Chance and other stops on his acoustic tour really showcased his voice and I loved that as well. He has a Southern Rock CD coming out Oct 23 and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Both talented guys though!

It would be Bo every time. Taylor just doesn't have the rich voice, sexy smile and energy that Bo puts into his shows. Anonymous 2:21 said Bo's music was slow..not true at all!

Thanks for letting me know about the new CD in October. I'll be first in line to buy it.

I grew up with Taylor and have seen him perform several times. He puts on a great show! That said....Bo, hands down, on who I would go see!!! Great show, killer music, fabulous 'visual', ...amazing altogether....and soooooooo addictive!!!!! I'm ready!!! When can I go??? ( ;

I've seen Bo in concert 12 times, once on the AI tour, six times last year with his band and five times this year on the acoustic tour. I've only seen Taylor once on the AI tour last year. I know it's not a true comparison because the AI tour didn't truly showcase Taylor's talent, but I would choose Bo every time.

Just comparing the two I saw that were alike, Taylor or Bo on the AI tour, Bo brought the house down! During Taylor's set I was gathering my stuff to beat the traffic.

Anonymous said...

You've got to be kidding me! No performer that I have seen puts on the show that Bo does. He leaves it all on the stage every night -- while I loved his acoustic show, nothing beats Bo and his band for a kick-ass rock'n'roll show.

I have had the privilege of travelling more than 10,000 miles over last two years to see Mr. Bice perform. Each gig has had a different feel to it. Some have been full of rock and roll, some full of more country-flavoured tunes, some have been full of quieter more folk-oriented numbers. It's the diversity that makes Bo Bice's concerts the pleasure that they are. There's always something for everyone. I truly love his heart and soul.

Anonymous said...

I have not seen either live yet but I have seen bootleg videos of both and read fan recaps of their shows. I think a Bo concert is the better deal. Bo has a better voice, he can sing anything. Bo is a better performer and is really funny on stage. Bo is also nicer to his fans at meet and greets. Taylor, from what I read, is very introvert and barely looks at the audience when he performs. He also acts like his meet and greets are a huge shore. His vocal range is really limited and is out of breath easily. I'm looking forward to Bo's CD to be released October 23rd.

Anonymous said...

Bo has this great stage presence and outstanding voice. He's the best of the two by far.

Anonymous said...

No question here. Hands down I would go to Bo's concert every time. Live Music Matters and Bo lives by that motto each and every day. His full-band concerts kick some serious ass, and his acoustic tour let people see that side of him and how much he loves what he does.

I can't wait for that Southern Rock CD that's coming this fall.

Good luck to Taylor Hicks. Rock on Bo Bice.

HANDS DOWN...TAYLOR HICKS...ROCK ON SOULMAN!!

I think both are very talented. I have seen Bo Bice in concert twice and both shows were acoustic. I also meet him at both shows. He was polite and gracious to all those who wanted an autograph or just wanted to meet him. I am looking forward to seeing him with a full band when he tours again to promo his New Cd. that is due out Oct. 23rd. He is a great singer and puts on an awesome show. For my Money it's got to be Bo hands down.

Anonymous said...

I've seen Bo Bice both with his band and during his acoustic tour. Bo's shows are incredible. His new music in wonderful and can't wait for his new CD to be released in October. I would go see Taylor if he was at a venue close to me. But, I've traveled to a number of Bo's shows, paying for air fare, concert tickets, hotel and rental cars. So I guess that answers the question of who I would be willing to spend more money to see. :)

No one beats Taylor Hicks on the stage - no one. That said, I liked Bo on AI and am anxious to see what his new album sounds like - if good, I'll buy it. I've never seen in concert however.

If I had to chose? Taylor Hicks would be my choice. Love his music, love his style and presentation!

Anonymous said...

I'm not going to knock Bo because I have never seen him (never wanted to, but if given a free ticket I might go).

I just have to say it's pathetic that some people have to get their jollies by saying nasty and patently untrue things about Taylor. It happens every day all over the Internet and it's just pitiful.

Some of these comments are utterly absurd. Anyone who has seen Taylor in person knows which comments to which I am referring.

Sean - You don't deserve this kind of BS raining down on your blog. I'm sorry, man.

Anonymous said...

I've seen both; there is no question at all. Bo all the way!
He just has such a good time and is so connected to his audience.
Can't wait to get the new CD.

Anonymous said...

I see the trolls have arrived!!

Anonymous said...

I've read and heard almost all positive reviews of Taylor's live shows. However, I prefer Bo's "wonderful big voice", as Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell describes it, to Taylor's wispier, raspier vocals. I also prefer Bo's performance style, although both of them are better than most singers, who stand behind the mike and never move.

Both of them have great backing bands, and in my opinion both are much better than most live acts in terms of getting the crowd into the show. That said, I'll go with Bo.

Anonymous said...

Sorry to say, we Bo fans are not trolls. I wanted Taylor to win Season 5 and have seen him live in concert. He puts on a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed it.....but sadly there was no connection with the audience. I still play both of his CD's in my car every day. Now onto who I would I go see for $35? Bo Bice all the way! He is amazing on stage, with or without a band behind him. He has unbelievable stage presence and connects almost too easily with his fans. He is a true down home guy that always shows his appreciation to his fans, small group or large. And his voice is strong, soft, sweet, powerful....well whatever he wants it to be. That is a sign of great performer and I would pay a hell of alot more than $35 to see him live again. And that's just what I plan to do! So please, no troll comments. Everyone is entitled to their opinion!

Anonymous said...

I was rooting for Taylor when he was on AI but I don't have any desire to go see him in concert. I have heard he is good though. Bo is just such an excellent talent. His voice is the best, he connects so well with the crowd and his performance on the stage is like no other. My last 35 bucks would go to BO!!

Anonymous said...

I voted for Taylor Hicks season 5 but for me no other performer on American Idol has come close to Bo Bice not only voice, talent, looks but he has an incredible presence about him he is a wonderful spirit and you just don't find the whole package to often. so for my $35 dollars it's Bo Bice all the way everyday... I was blessed to see Bo perform in Vegas it was unbelievable and unforgettable. So don't forget October 23 Bo's new C.D. is being released! get out there and getcha some....

Anonymous said...

This "Troll" has never seen Taylor in concert, but I did enjoy his performances on AI. However, if I had $35 it would be used to see Bo in concert (even though I've seen him 10 times).

Looking forward to Bo's Sophomore CD hitting the shelves on October 23rd. =)

Anonymous said...

I saw Bo once with his full band and Taylor once. And for me it was hands down Bo Bice. Taylor was good but I like Bo's voice and style of music better. So, if I only had $35 I would spend $20 on a ticket to see Bo and save $15 for his new cd coming out in October. Can't wait!

Anonymous said...

First of all, what's a troll? I would spend my money on Bo Bice. Does that make me a troll? Yikes! Nothing against Taylor, I just prefer Bo's music, looks and personality.

Anonymous said...

Uh oh Sean, look what you've started. lol

It might have been better to ask...For those who have seen both Taylor and Bo perform live, who do you prefer and why?

It sounds to me as if most have seen one or the other and not all have seen them live, so how can they decide?

Just the same, from everything that has been written, it sounds like they're both great performers and have a lot in common.

Anonymous said...

Hi Sean
I was standing next to you and your girlfriend in "The Chance" when Bo performed and I saw how he put a smile on your face!

Bo's performance was an acoustic one when you saw him this summer because he was in the process of trying out the new songs he wrote for his upcoming sophomore album that is coming out around October 23. This album will truly reflect the real Bo Bice, as he has co - written all the songs and they are in his true Southern Rock style. Believe me when he comes back to Poughkeepsie with his new band and performs these songs you will be really blown away! Bo is a fabulous performer when he rocks out and there will be a lot of memorable songs on the new album.

I'm sure Taylor put on a great concert, but please wait till you see Bo and his band perform from his new album before you decide who you like the best.
Thanks!
Pat

Tough question Sean! I have seen Bo in concert 4 times and Taylor 7. (Yes, I realize I have a problem, lol.) I thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

I love Bo's Southern rock but I also love Taylor's blues and soul. I love Bo's booming voice but I also love Taylor's whiskey tenor voice. I love Bo's cool rocker moves but I also love Taylor's...whatever they are called. :)

I guess if I had to choose one concert to attend I would go with Taylor by a hair. I can't pinpoint exactly why. I just know after each of Taylor's concerts I had the biggest grin on my face. So, like someone else has already said Taylor just makes me happy.

Anonymous said...

I've seen both - Bo in 2006 backed by his touring band at the time and Taylor during his first tour this year. While I have a soft spot for Bo, Taylor's show was much better - better songs, better band, Taylor was more energetic and entertaining. I've seen clips online of both Bo and Taylor unplugged on stage more recently. No question, I'd go see Taylor again in a heartbeat, and spend much more than $35 to do it (I spent much more last time!). I'm not sure I'd see Bo again, while he has a great voice I don't like what I've heard of his new music so far. I love Taylor's original songs, he has a heartfelt sensibility which I can really feel, and I like the many influences - jazz, blues, rock - that he brings to his songwriting. Bo's songs are monotonic and dreary by comparison. I wish him well, but I just don't find Bo as entertaining as I do Taylor. Frankly, I could afford to see both but would only go see Taylor again. His show was just so much fun!

Anonymous said...

Taylor Hicks...hands down....I did like Bo and voted my butt off for him. But...I'd go see Taylor first.

Anonymous said...

I've seen both Taylor and Bo in concert and must admit that I enjoyed Bo's show much more than Taylor's. I don't know if it's just personal preference or if it's because I felt more like a part of the performance but I do know that Bo's show stayed with me a lot longer after it was over. It was like Bo and his band made the audience feel like they were a part of the show, everyone was there to have a good time. With Taylor it was entertaining but not as personal, almost like he was just doing his job. I'm sorry I can't explain it better.

I think they are both terrific but if I had to choose I'd have to go see Bo. I enjoy Bo's country rocker style more than the jazzy blues that is Taylor's choice.

I read on here that Bo has a new CD coming out soon so I'll be looking forward to that. Sending heartfelt wishes that both of these men continue to make beautiful music for all of us to enjoy.

"Bo Bice or Taylor Hicks? You decide..."

I've not seen either, but if I could only see one it would be Taylor Hicks. If he ever comes up to Canada I'll be first in line for tickets.

Anonymous said...

I'm from Birmingham so I have had the opportunity to see both. My $35 goes to Mr. Bo Bice!!

Sean T. McMann said...

Wow! Thanks for all the great comments! Having seen both concerts in Poughkeepsie, I was pretty much blown away by both guys. You can see the quandary I was in when the original question was posed to me: They're both great performers, each with his own style and his own legion of devoted fans. I wanted to open a forum for both Bo's fans and Taylor's supporters a chance to gush about their guy ... and it looks like you have! :)

Anonymous said...

I love them both equally. I'd love to see them jam together sometime too!

Anonymous said...

I've never been addicted to idol until Taylor came along which then I found out that it was Taylor I was addicted to, not idol. I haven't seen either in concert, but I do have about 4Gigs worth of Taylor's summer tour videos which is as close as I can get to his concert until he comes to Canada. With that being said, hands down, I choose Taylor. He's got the whole package. I'll admit, I am biased, but from what I've heard Bo is very talented as well.

Anonymous said...

I've seen both on Idol and on bootlegs videos of their live performances.

It's just Bo Bice hands down. The reason I watched seasons 5 and 6 is to find out if there would be any other finalist that can break that Bo spell but there was none. Bo has fantastic command of the stage. One can feel and see how he brings his audience 'in the zone' with him and lets you feel and enjoy the vibe whether he is playing his lap guitar or singing a capella or rocking out with his band. When he performs, the audience becomes a part of a community of Bo followers. Everyone just falls under his spell making every one yearn for more and go to the next one. That is the Bo Bice trademark.

Whether it's a slow song (check Sinner in A Sin, Nashville on youtube) or his rocking new tune (I'm Gone at Fort Benning also on youtube), the man just exemplifies talent extraordinaire.

Bo was invited to sing three songs at Bonnaroo - impromptu ones at that and got to play Panama, Saturday Night Special and Whole Lotta Love with Trey Anastacio, Galactica and the Dave Matthews Band. Check youtube again for WLL (sorry have to mention that). He was likewise fantastic onstage performing with Lynyrd Skynyrd on VH-1 Decades Live Concert last year.

I've been a fan of other rock artists but no one, repeat, no one has caught my admiration so much for the diverse talent that is Bo Bice. I'm so excited for what he has to offer now that he has the freedom to do the music he wants to do. I've seen the new songs on his myspace and on different fansites. I would love to see him live onstage someday soon. For me, he's worth more than just $35. The happiness that he brings to me just watching him on my little computer screen is worth more than that. Seeing him live would be a dream come true.

I live in Birmingham and I have to say that I've seen both guys perform, and my pick is BO BICE hands down. I like Taylor and I wish him well but there will NEVER be another performer like the BICEMAN. He is absolutely phenomenal on stage. His voice is like no other. He puts on a hell of a show and he makes his fans feel so special. My 35$ goes to Mr. Bice.

Anonymous said...

Well, a list of comments that actually answer the intial question without too much angst. When the blogger ( Sean ) is undeniably unbiased and genuinely interested in the publics' responses to his article, it shows. Thanks Sean.

For me it is Taylor because I enjoy his voice and style. Bo's does not appeal to me, but I believe him to be an honest performer who plays from his heart. Totally a matter of preference !!!!

loveanymusic said...

My pick is Bo Bice without any hesitation. He is awesome on stage and there is no other that can compare to him. I enjoy his music, his antics and that wonderful personality. But his voice and his perfrmance is what keeps me going back for more. I wish Taylor the best but my money is on Mr. Bice, always!

Anonymous said...

I have seen both in concert. They are both good, but Bo Bice is a better entertainer.Taylor plays well to his audience, but at times can be "cheesey". Bo is pure class with sex appeal thrown in.I an looking forward to both of their futures.

Anonymous said...

Bo Bice for sure. His music and him are just the total package. He really cares about his fans and that is what keeps so many of us loyal to him. I like Taylor as well but have only seen him at the AI tour but if I had to choose go see Bo or go see Taylor... Bo would win without any hesitation.

Anonymous said...

It is nice to see that both artists have loyal fans. I wish Bo great success he deserves it. I have not seen Bo live but would like to. Taylor musically fits my tastes. He's renewed my love of soul music and been the impetus for me to download lots of the old soul singers.

I've seen Taylor live at the HOB twice (New Orleans and Chicago). He put on a rockin' show. There was a huge connection between Taylor and audience. Fans were clappin', snappin, singin', swayin'. Taylor was not stop ON. Will see him every chance I get.

Anonymous said...

Bo is the best. He pour his heart and soul in to every aspect of his show. Can't wait for his new cd in October

Anonymous said...

Oh, come on, several of the comments sound like they came from the same person. I happen to love both of these guys and I don't want to see any competition between them. really tired of singing competitions. Much as I love Bo, for depth of talent and richest of voice, Taylor is better. But Bo is great.

Anonymous said...

Bo Bice hands down!!! I have seen tons of concerts. Everyone from Michael Bolton to Billy Joel, to Pink Floyd and I have NEVER in my life left a concert feeling the way I do when I see Bo perform. He is absolutely amazing. He is so underrated.I have brought many a skeptical friend to see Bo and the next day they were buying the cd.

Anonymous said...

Sean, you certainly know how to get a lot of comments - competition between the idols!!!

However, as I Taylor fan I would have to say, Taylor Hicks does a better show. I have only been to one, but am looking forward to his last of the year in Millersville, PA.

I have never been to a Bo Bice concert and I am a country music fan, just not into his music. In fact, Taylor is the 1st musician I have completely become addicted to since Elvis (does that date me?).

Anonymous said...

My above comment is not correct - how do I know if Taylor does a better show if I have not seen a Bo Bice show. Sorry about that. If I had a choice, though, it would be Taylor. No offense to Bo, but Taylor has me hook, line and sinker.

Anonymous said...

WOW!! I've never really been a fan of either - just because I never could get into American Idol (Partly because of Simon and partly because of all the horrendous audition tapes), but after reading these comments, I can tell that both Taylor and Bo have already established a dedicated fan base. Let's face it, these are both young guys with a whole lifetime ahead of them to create new music. Since what I'm reading is that they are both great now, imagine what they are going to be like years from now?

Sean's Space has always been an enjoyable place to come, let's try to keep it that way. It's not about people lying, or people being "trolls" because they share differing viewpoints. It's about the common love of great music, which I can see you all share.

I say rock on Bo and Taylor and certainly rock on Sean for both your insight and your lighthearted posts. Coming to your blog is a fun break for me. Keep up the good work!! :-)

Anonymous said...

I voted for both on AI but have to say that Bo Bice is my favorite by far. He has the strongest voice .

Sunny said...

I made my decision, it's on my blogspot. Idol Blues.

Anonymous said...

I'd have to say Taylor by far. I like Bo, but there's something very special about Taylor. He's the ultimate performer. His concerts leave you breathless and excited. What someone said about him not connecting with or looking at his audience is not true. I've been to five. He looks people in the audience in the eye, smiles at them, points them out. He's very acknowledging of his audience. If you've only seen him on the AI tour, you haven't truly experienced a Taylor concert. The AI show was not even close to a Taylor Hicks concert.

The same person who mentioned Taylor doesn't connect also said they heard he treats his meet & greets as a chore. Having been at one, that is also not true. He was very sweet, happy, smiled and chatted with everyone and was very accommodating to all.

Anonymous said...

I cannot comment on Taylor as I've only seen him on TV.

Bo, on the other hand, is awesome to see live. Bo's voice is amazing and I love to see him get in the "zone" when he's up on stage. He lets the music come from his soul and you can see it and feel it. I would go see Bo once a week and probably never get tired of him. He makes you want to come back for more.

I'm so very anxious to hear Bo's southern rock CD in October and see him and his bandmates again live. Live music really does matters!

Anonymous said...

Two southern gentlemen for sure. I voted for both of them on american idol, but if my $35 is to buy me a ticket it comes down to a Bo Bice concert. Can't wait for October 23 rd release of his new cd.

Anonymous said...

I'm a fan of both of these gifted gentlemen and have seen both perform several times. Taylor is my choice by a small margin because I prefer his style of music (jamming, blues-oriented) to southern rock. Bo is amazing, though: charismatic and dynamic with a great voice. I look forward to being able to see both perform for years to come and definitely look forward to Bo's CD.

Anonymous said...

Bo all the way! He is awesome. don't forget about his cd in october!

Anonymous said...

Bo Bice!! Bo has it all!! He's putting out a new CD October 23 and it will be all Southern Rock with a whole host of famoous musicians recording along with him...it will really rock! He's got the soul of American / Southern Rock! I love him!

Anonymous said...

Both of these guys are from my home state of Alabama, but I am a Bo fan above everyone else in the world. I have seen Bo 18 times and each and every show has been killer! Bo pours himself heart and soul into performing and is himself a sweetheart. I've met him numerous times and he is unfailingly nice. I wish Taylor nothing but the best, but for my money, it's BO BICE! Watch for his new cd to be released October 23!

Anonymous said...

Why compare these two performers. Each one is unique in their own style. If you have'nt seen both in concert how can you make a fair judgement. My friend in NJ has seen Bo and Taylor. The first Taylor show she was let down. No personality. She saw him this past Sat. and he was "on fire". She is still a Bo fan first, but Taylor's a close second. As for me I've traveled many miles to see Bo. Iv'e seen him with a band and acoustic. He does an amazing show. I've paid more than $35.00 for a show and would do it as often as I could. I've never seen Taylor live so how can this be a fair comparison. All I can go by is what I saw on AI. I really liked Taylor, but Bo is the only performer I've ever cared enough about to bother posting on something like this.

Sean T. McMann said...

So ... when does Bo's CD come out? ;)

Anonymous said...

I am very pleased that, for the most part, everyone has been very respectful of both of these very talented men.

While I liked Taylor on AI, and he did a really great job, that is just not my favorite kind of music.

That said, I am, and always will be, a Bo Bice fan. Not only for his voice, looks, performance skills, his perservance and drive, but also for the gentle and humble man he is.

Bo would be the one I'd go see.

My type of music, my type of man, my type of performer, my type of voice, my type of personality, ... I will definitely choose BO. Have only seen them on Idol shows, and from what I've seen from both, it's definitely him all the wayyyy.

Anonymous said...

I voted for Taylor in Season 5...hope he does well. But my $35.00 goes to Mr. Bice. I have seen him 2 times in concert...unbelievable magic there! It is hard to describe if you have never seen him. For me, I not only fell in love with Bo's voice on AI, but his whole personality and presence just tugged at my heart strings! Just think he is a great person...not your average singer..he will only continue to grow toward influencing music in the years to come.
Again, like both guys, but Bo has my vote.

Taylor absolutely!!. I've been to several of his concerts, and they are wonderful. I don't even remember Bo's performance during the AI concert tour, but Taylor's stole the show -- the energy, the passion, the audience reaction was unbelievable. His voice and energy are addictive. He's a born performer, who truly feeds off the audience's energy. I would not pass up an opportunity to see Taylor in concert anytime anywhere!

Anonymous said...

I voted for both, seen them both and have to go with BO - big time! Bo is much more versatile! I have seen him all over the stage with his band, playing various instruments to acoustic. Taylor is good but BO IS THE BEST! I am counting down the days until his new album is released in October and the next concert. As far as seeing Taylor again, for myself only if he opened for Bo!

Anonymous said...

I've seen Bo three times and Taylor twice, and would have a very hard time deciding between the two. I like them equally. How's that for a PC answer!

Anonymous said...

I love both Bo and Taylor. I think Bo is my all time favorite but he came first so maybe that is it. I have seen both live and they are both wonderful but like apples and oranges..both fruit but different. lol Bo is such a gentle soul and his music is wonderful and full of spirit. Taylor is full of soulful energy and on fire when he performs live. I hate to see the fans of these two square off...we should support each other...they are both Bama boys and we need to ban together as fanbases and support their unique sounds and qualities as a way to help stand against the Carries and Chris Daughtrys of this world...not that I hate them either but lets face it they both do ready made music and are not the unique musicians that Taylor or Bo are...imo.

Anonymous said...

I've seen both in concert....both are equally talented but in different genres.....Don't think I could decide if I could only see one of them....Can't wait for their sophomore CD's....They were both made to record songs that did not showcase their unique talents the first time around...I, too, would love to see them perform together...I'd spend a lot more than$35 to see them both.

Anonymous said...

I voted for both of them. Bo is like Taylor is that his music is just outside mainstream Top 40. I'm primarily a Taylor Hicks fan and would see him in a nanosecond. I've never seen Bo live, but might if he came near me. I say we support BOTH of them and wish them BOTH great success with their second albums and in their careers. Both are excellent musicians and play the REAL MUSIC that I love so much - not the manufacturered crap forced upon us by the Carrie's and Daughtry's on mainstream radio. Urgh!

Sean - I too thought it would be great if Taylor and Bo put on a show together. It would be a blast! Ü

On that note, Taylor gets my vote all the way. I love Bo, but I can't stop dancing when Taylor comes on stage. Whoa baby!

Oh, Sean!!!!!! You my friend don't know what you have gotten yourself into here!! I do not know much about Bo, I like his music if I hear it, I don't own a Bo Bice cd, never seen him in concert and probably never will. I LOVE TH and would see him in concert every week if I could. I've been to 2 shows which were both awesome. I agree with the person who said we should support them both. If you are a Bo fan, support him! If you are a TH fan, support him! If you are a big fan of both, support them both! It's all about the love of music! If you love their music, listen to it, buy it, see a show!

My $35 went to Taylor's Hard Rock Live Concert last night. Yes! I haven't seen Bo in concert but would really love to. I think it's great when interviewers ask Taylor who he most admires and would most like to work with in the music industry, one and sometimes the first, is Bo Bice.

I liked Bo when he was on tv the season before Taylor. When I heard the cd I was lukewarm to it so I never bought it. Then,to be truthful when Taylor Hicks came into the picture and I heard his voice I dropped everything. Only seen him perform 3 concerts so I cant truthfully compare the two of them in concert but I love what this man does when he sings, he's puts on a fabulous show. I still remember Bo's talent and wish he would get more exposure so I could get a feel for him now. If Bo performed near me with his acoustic performance I would definitely go. I will be a longtime Hicks fan for many years to come but I also have room to see what's up with Bo. Not bad for two Alabama boys they both done good.
